Hurricane Irene, Samana, Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic
Partly windy all night and now some gusts up to 15 miles per hour. Basically the hurricane completely missed us and no damage done at all. Lots of leaves and some twigs blown off trees. The rain stopped about 4 am but was not particularly heavy at all. We got more rain than that last week. So the only real sign that that monster was out here were the mild gusts of winds that were with us most of last night. No rain now and the streets are dry. Even the sun is start to peep out. All calm here in beautiful Las Terrenas and only goes to show we have god on our site and this is earthly paradise. We are off to the beach, I’m sure it will be a good day for buggie bearding. My 4 year old son is going to have a blast, I’m sure the waves will be good today.
